First Sunday of Lent

On this First Sunday of Lent, the readings show us two choices: the disobedience of Adam and the obedience of Jesus. Adam gives in to temptation, and sin enters the world. Jesus, tempted in the desert, resists the devil and remains faithful to His Father. St. Paul reminds us that through one man came sin, but through one man—Christ—comes grace, forgiveness, and new life. Where Adam fell, Jesus stands firm. Lent is our time in the desert. We all face temptations and struggles, but through prayer, fasting, and trust in God’s Word, we can overcome them. May this holy season help us turn away from sin, choose obedience, and grow closer to Christ each day.
